Need help with hot water?
When should I replace a water heater?
A good rule of thumb for water heater lifespan is around 8-10 years. There are many factors that go into how long a water heater will last including water quality and whether the unit has been routinely flushed or not
Is a tankless water heater a good option for me?
Gas tankless is definitely a good option for larger families. You’ll have a virtually endless supply of hot water capable of serving multiple fixtures at once
Water Heater Leaking?
Shut off water
If you’ve come to find your water heater leaking the first thing that needs to be done is to shut off the water supply to the tank. There should be a water supply valve on the incoming water supply on the right side of the tank. If you have a older style valve it will be a gate type valve that needs to be turned clockwise until it can be turned no further in order to shut off. If you have a ball type valve, simply turn the handle perpendicular or 180 degrees to shut off.
Turn off power supply
For gas water heaters you will need to turn the control knob on the gas control valve located on the front of the water heater to the off position. If it is an electric water heater you will need to locate the proper breaker in the electric panel to shut off power.
